Red Spade print
Red Spade print
Do you remember idyllic childhood summers, paddling and playing in the shallows in the late afternoon sun? The best fun was always to be had trying to make a dam to stop the streams and rivulets heading to the sea. The painting was inspired from all those happy days spent down at Petit Bôt bay with the children. It is the most magical place for kids, with streams to dam and shallow water to splash in. Not to mention the beach ducks! This was the first print I ever made so has a special place in my heart.
This red spade was seemingly abandoned one day, stuck in the sand, with the owner having raced off on some other adventure. It makes me think of summer breezes and sandwiches on the beach. carefree days…
