This oil painting was inspired by a photo I took many years ago. The boats in the harbour were dressed overall to celebrate Liberation Day in Guernsey, an annual holiday which marks the end of the island’s occupation during WW2. The large sail had been let loose to fly as a flag, free as the wind. It celebrates freedom, colour and life!
